what do you think?

I hope by now you have heard the government of Quebecois has issued a bill to ban any conspicuous religious apparel and signs in government offices. For example burka, kippa or even cross. It's called "RELIGIOUS NEUTRALITY AND SECULAR NATURE OF PUBLIC BODIES"

Of course there is an understandable proportion of upheavals among Canadians; both those for it and against it.

I personally don't care. I am much grateful to the services I might have received ( and yes there are many of those) from the kippa wearing Doctor. I have yet to see a burka wearing nurse, but even if I see one at my time of needs; ailment or any other due governmental services, I would be appreciative of the service. I rarely wear my cross conspicuously but I have a charcoal based portrait of Jesus with a caption "Oui, Dieu a tant aime le monde qu'il a donne son Fils" in my cubicle. So far no atheist or Muslim who came to my office for help either verbally or implicitly stated their objections.

But the fact of the matter is, this issue has become very emotional not only among the Quebecois but also among the Canadians. It has gotten popularity in recent times that the leader of Quebecois are only playing the demagogue game.

The question is, what do you think?  Do you think it's racism? As most Canadians seem to think so. Christians are not immune to it because they can't wear earrings or necklaces that conspicuously depict Jesus or the cross. Neither can they display quotes or pictures of the Lord in their offices.  But this issue has just been ignored as innocuous by many. Everybody is up in arms about veils, kippas and turbans but almost none of the articles that you read about this bill mentions Christians.  What do you think in that perspective?
